A view of Table Mountain from the N1 highway Kraaifontein.
I took this photo from the car on our way to hubbies Badminton Tournament on Sunday 29 July 2012. The past few weeks I keep telling myself I want to stop next to the road and take a photo of Table Mountain with the duplex houses in front. So Sunday I took the photo through the windscreen.
My photo of the day for 28 July 2012 was taken at the Winelands Winter Queen Gala evening.
I was invited to this Gala evening by Sunette Nieuwoudt our own Mrs SA finalist. I took my camera with to take some photo’s of Sunette and the winners my intention was not to take photo’s of the whole event. But by now you know me I just could not resist. I was not prepared had one memory card and did not charge any batteries. Half way through the event my flash batteries died and I was forced to practice my photography without a flash and a tripod…..
I am very happy with the results of my photo’s. First of all I took all the photo’s from our table I did not want to inconvenience the official photographer. Second I had to zoom in at least 100mm in low light and no support from a tripod….
But you can judge the photo of the day…. The rest will follow in a few weeks time first need to finish some other shoots photo’s first.
Just love this dress…. One of the finalist of the Winelands Winter Queen Pageant
Today’s photo of the day is one of my products that I offer to my clients.
Thank you CD’s. You can choose a package with 10 Thank You CD’s with photo’s from the party on it. On back of the CD cover there is a little message from the Birthday boy or girl.
Every now and then Aran will come and visit me for a hour or two. I totally forgot to post these photo’s of his visit in December 2011.
As you will see he really enjoyed his visit playing with the props and posing for the camera… I can’t believe that next month he’ll be turning two years old. Time really don’t wait for nobody.

For me this little bear is a reminder of my new life…
Little Big FootLittle Big Foot in Black & White
In August 2009 I went for a tummy tuck and while in hospital Ronald bought me this little Big foot. Before the operation I lost 14 kg and went to the gym but my sagging tummy did not go away. Ronald told me that I can go for a tummy tuck and you will never believe what a boost in self confidence I got.
I also started working on my new career as a photographer. Once again I have to thank hubby for helping me living my dream…
Every time that I look at Little Big foot I think back to that boost in confidence I got after the operation. I will never buy clothes in the petite section but at least I don’t need to buy baggy clothes to hide that sagging tummy.
Little Big Foot is on the dresser that I use as a prop in some photo shoots and sometimes the little ones pick him to feature in their photo shoot….
Today I went on another shopping trip. I bought a black background for my home studio and just could not resist adding this pink little hat to my hat collection….

Every morning the boys ask me for hot chocolate, coffee or tea. I usually made it in travel mugs but sometimes it does not seal properly and it can be a messy business. So I decided to buy them each a small flask just big enough for two cups and the best of all now they can enjoy a cup at morning break also. Now I am only waiting to see which boy loses his flask first…. No flask no hot chocolate…

While on holiday I was constantly looking for props for my photo shoots. My photo of the day for today is one off the props I brought back home…
We went to a Farmers market on the first Saturday of our holiday. The whole time I was looking for something to use in my photo shoots. I saw quite a few things but I had to keep in mind that I have a budget and space in the car was minimal. So whatever I buy must be small enough to fit in my bag or at my feet. I found these four hearts with Love, Hope, Peace and Joy in the last row of little stalls. I asked hubby if he can have a look at it. I wanted to know if I would be able to take the four hearts apart and use the separately.
I spotted some similar hearts made out of metal and wire at a few other tables too. The big difference was the other hearts was single and they cost around R40 per heart and it was approximately the size of the Hope heart. I wanted Afrikaans and English ones so it started working out a bit expensive. I still had my whole holiday left and did not want to spend all my money at a Farmers market on the first day.
I used two of these metal hearts in my photo shoots over the weekend…

Today I had a very busy day. This morning I had a photo shoot at my home studio with the Kruger Family and later I had a on site photo shoot at the Pospech Family.
Both shoots was lots of fun but my Favorite photo of the day was of little Miss Chloë (4 months). My first photo of the shoot was a winner.Just look at that smile…

My photo of the day for 11 July 2012 was taken with my Blackberry at the Garden Center in Sandbaai . I used Photoshop to work on the contrast a bit.
We promised the kids that before our friend and her kids head home they could go and play for an hour or so. While we were sitting at the coffee shop I spotted the ornaments for your garden. I thought it would look quite nice if incorporated in a shoot. My thoughts were not even cold when a mom asked her children to sit next to the ornaments. Hmmm so glad to see people out there that also think creatively.

My photo of the day for 10 July 2012 is one of 4 friends eating ice cream in the middle of winter…
Yesterday we took the children to the play park at the local Garden Centre here in Sandbaai. The children really enjoyed it but the best photo for me was one were all four kids sat on a swing bench eating their ice cream and talking about all kinds of stuff.
How I wish I could be 10 again…..

My Photo of the day for 9 July 2012 is a cloud we saw at day break. The Black and White Photo does not do it justice but I post it anyway.
We left Bloemfontein at 22h30 and drove all night. As we drove through Touwsriver on route to De Doorns when we saw this breath taking photo. The cloud looked like it was on fire. I took out my camera and this was my first photo of the day and also THE PHOTO OF MY DAY.
I must be honest with you, I was very happy to be back in the Western Cape. Don’t get me wrong I had a lovely holiday with lovely photo opportunities, but nothing beats home…

My photo of the day for 8 July 2012 is a little Meerkat from the Emoya Estate.
The little critter was just to quite. While visiting in Bloemfontein for the weekend Maryke took us to Emoya.
We spotted the little Meerkat with a bell around his neck. As we walked it followed us everywhere we go. It was just to cute and entertaining. I took allot of photo’s of the little critter but will share that with some more information of Emoya.

My Photo of the day for 7 July 2012 is one of the rugby game at the Free State Stadium.
We were very happy when hubbies niece told us that her hubby organized tickets for us so that we could watch the game between our team the Stormers and the Free State Team the Cheetahs. We sat across the Halfway line high up on the stands. Luckily we were on the Grand stand and the rain did not effect us.
I am very proud and happy to say that our team the Stormers won…..

My photo of the day for 5 July 2012 is a hill and a tree all gone wrong…
Now you are going to ask me how can a hill and tree go wrong. Well one evening I had a dream about a hill and a tree that I took photo of and since then I am searching for my tree on the hill. Just outside Alpine Heath I saw a hill and a tree that looks similar to the picture in my dream, but the problem is the tree is not on the hill it is next to it…
I told Ronald and my parents about my hill and tree so every time they see a hill and a tree they show it to me and every time I say no it’s not my tree and hill. I have the photo in my mind and I won’t stop looking till I get it.

My photo of the day for 3 July 2012 was the mountains at Alpine Heath at sunrise. It looked absolutely stunning.
I woke up at 6 O’Clock that morning and waited for Ronald’s alarm to go off. After snoozing a bit I got dressed and went outside to see what activity there is in the early morning. Not much I must add. I think all the animals and birds were waiting for the sun’s warm rays to give some heat. It was freezing outside.
The warm rays of the sun surely help to highlight the red colour of the mountains. I took a few experimental photo’s also but will share that at a later stage.

My Photo of the day for 2 July 2012 was the waterfall at Alpine Heath.
Ronald and I went hiking to the waterfall. I am afraid of heights and everything higher than a chair is a mission for me to climb on. Ronald talked to me and promised me he would help me and won’t let me fall. Man oh man I was very scared but I trust Ronald with my life so after talking to hard to myself I took the brave step and let him help me up the rocks.
I am very glad I did. The waterfall was lovely but we could not stay to long because it was starting to get dark and we did not want to get caught by the dark. If we knew the area well it would have been a different story.

My Photo of the day for 1 July 2012 was taken on our way to Alpine Heath in the Drakensberg.
When we turned of to Alpine Heath, Siabonga stood along the road with little clay animals. They sell it for food. I bought myself a Rhino. More photo’s of our day on the road at a later stage.

Due to the lack of internet connection I could not post my photo of the day as I wished. We had a lovely time at Alpine Heath.
My photo of the day for 30 June 2012 is of our friends that stay in Benoni. We had a quick family shoot at a dam a few kilometres from their house. As soon as I edit all the photo’s I will post some more photo’s.
