We spend a long time in Goegap Nature Reserve that morning but when I looked at my cellphone and saw the time I told my parents we must be hitting the road again. It’s still a long way to Upington and I would like to get there before dark.

On the tourist route round Ribbokkop. Brants’ Whistling Rat. They are only 25cm long and live in sandy areas with shrubs. They eat leaves and other plant material.

On the tourist route round Ribbokkop. While watching the Gemsbok something caught my eye. I first thought it was ground squirrels but it was Brants’ Whistling Rat. They are only 25cm long and live in sandy areas with shrubs. They eat leaves and other plant material. Some more photo’s of this little ones in my next post.
