Sunel turned 40 Featuring on Website
I met Sunel a few years back when my husband introduced us at the Varingfees. When I got my camera in 2009 I was given the opportunity to take photo’s back stage at the Varingfees. If it were not for Sunel believing in me I would not have had the opportunity to capture allot of Artists and also be part of the team of the Varingfees and also the Sunshine Festival.
It was a great honor to capture her 40th birthday. Sunel has a heart of gold and she deserved to be treated like a queen.
The Decor was breathtaking the atmosphere were romantic and the food was outstanding. Sunel’s closets friends each gave her a broach and they pinned it on a material flower bouquet. Something very special I think. After Sunel made her speech she sang a song for her husband and he stood up and went and sit on the floor in front of her with the kids and they listened to her. Afterwards she came and hug her family. It was such a special and tear jerking moment… Well this softy cried…
Thank you for stopping by my blog. Please visit my events page for more photo’s of Sunel’s 40th

10 September 2013: Goegap Nature Reserve
On the tourist route round Ribbokkop.
Some background information that I got from the brochure we got at the main gate.
Goegap Nature Reserve is situated about 15 km south-east of Springbok in the Namaqualand and covers approximately 15 000 ha.
The Reserve was established in 1960 when the O’kiep Copper Mining Company donated 4 600 ha agricultural land to the Cape Provincial Administration for the development of a wild flower reserve. In 1966 the Hester Malan Wild Flower garden was opened by the Administrator of the Cape, Dr Nico Malan, in honor of his wife. The reserve was later enlarged when the farm Goegap was bought by the Chief Directorate of Nature and Environmental Conservation and added to the reserve.

10 September 2013: Goegap Nature Reserve
We visited Goegap Nature Reserve 12km outside Springbok en route to Upington…. We could only do the circle route because we don’t have a 4×4 vehicle. Next time I am going in a 4×4. They were busy upgrading the parks reception area and everything was closed. Not that it mattered we were there to take in nature not to shop…
The lady at the gate told us that the route will take about 40 minutes… Fat chance that is going to happen with me and my dad in the car. We made this 40 min drive a 2 hour drive. Stopping and taking landscape photos and don’t forget every flower that we find interesting or beautiful.
These photo’s was taken when we just entered the park.

10 September 2013: Springbok
In the middle of the main road of Sprinbok there is a big traffic circle. The space in this circle was used to make a garden and they build a memorial in commemoration of all the heroes and heroines of the Namaqualand uprising from 1798 to 1799. It is a beautiful garden with all of the flowers, trees and succulents that are indigenous to Namaqualand. Here are some more of the beautiful trees and flowers in the garden. We left Springbok to go to the Goegap Nature Reserve 12km outside Springbok…

10 September 2013: Springbok
The morning of the 10th we went to the Wimpy for breakfast and then I wanted to take some photographs of the buildings in Sprinbok before we leave for Upington. All the buildings opposite the Klipkerk in Church Street was painted White and the trimmings was yellow. I especially liked this white and yellow guesthouse with it’s boat theme…
