Yesterday was National Heritage day here in South Africa and it is also been known for the past few years as National Braai day. We went out for the day and Ruby had to stay outside and play with the other 4 legged brothers and sisters.
Last night I took these photo’s of her. She was either very upset with us for letting her stay outside the whole day or she was dead tired of all the playing…..
I am very proud of my student Lizette. She is really learning fast and her photography improved allot since our first lesson.
Originally the cake had two cricket players on it…. I asked my parents to keep the cake at their house because I was afraid the the cat will attack the cake…. Haha how funny my mom’s dog Arnie decided that the cake need to be redecorated and stole the one cricket player off the cake. I could not help but laugh at the whole scenario…. There was a gap and I wanted it closed. I am not artistic enough and to make another cricket player but I had a brain wave and took a Fizzer put it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it and then I rolled a piece. Every cricket player needs a towel right?
Lian also had a sleepover party and here are some of the photo’s taken of Lian and his friends. They played with a BB Gun in the outside passage and it was covered in BB gun pellets and the other boys made p- shooters out of straws and they had a ball…. This mom don’t clean up after 12 year old boys anymore so they had to clean up before I made breakfast…. This was also a game to them and they cleaned like only 12 year old boys clean… After breakfast they decided to do some “gymnastics” and then they disappeared outside to go and play in the trees.
Hi there, I know I am a day late but I was very busy yesterday and did not have time to post. I did take some photo’s of her yesterday morning before I began working.
I think Ruby has stop growing for now. She is busy getting new teeth and eat allot but she is standing still. Well so it seems.
Ruby has enough energy for 4 dogs and she is really giving me allot of exercise. She has this new habit she comes and sit by me and then she starts moaning. Normally when she moans she wants to go outside to use her bathroom… Nowadays she moans and as soon as she gets outside she runs straight to the wooden box were we keep her ball. She wants to play fetch the whole time…
The boys are studying for their exams so on their break they would go play fetch with Ruby. This works for me because now the boys also get some fresh air and some exercise.
Here are some of the photo’s of Ruby and I also throw in some of Tammy and Tekkies.
I will not be posting next week Tuesday. I will if I have time post photo’s of Ruby on Sunday. I am going away on holiday from 9 September to 16 September 🙂
Here is my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea
I took these photo’s during the September 2012 School holiday in Sandbaai , Hermanus and surroundings. I have hundreds of photo’s of the sea and will post some more after this.
Our Fourth Photography Lesson was on 26 June 2013. It was raining outside and I thought while we are working with Depth of field we might as well be creative.
I went through my props and try to get all the objects that one can use while photographing a wedding. Sometimes one have to make do with very little. The whole idea was to let Lizette be creative and I wanted to see what layouts she would come up with. I gave her some ideas and then she had to do her own layout.
For Lizette’s third photography lesson I decided that a field trip will be the practical thing to do. I took her to Melkbos, Blaauwberg, Table View and on our way back we stopped on the Vissershok Road and at Clara Anna Fontein.
At Melkbos Lizette had to take some landscape photo’s using her tripod and her 18-55mm lens. She had to move around and capture the area from different spots. She also had to play with her ISO and her Aperture Priority. She had to make sure that the photo are in focus and also at the right exposure. To get this right she had to play with her ISO and F-Stop settings.
Here are some of my photo’s taken at Melkbos also using my Takara Tripod, My Canon EOS 7D and my Canon 18-200mm lens.
It was freezing cold and we moved on to our next destination Blaauwberg. Here I borrowed Lizette my Sigma 70-300mm. She was in love with the lens. The main reason I think is because she could zoom in. Again she had to use her tripod and also do some free hand shots of birds in flight. We also had to test our patience to get some nice splashes against the rocks.
Here are a few of my photo’s taken at Blaauwberg.
After our shoot at Blaauwberg we went to Table View were we had a light lunch and the I went and took some photo’s of the ship wreck. I’ll post a series of the ship wreck over the years one of these days.
