Pink…

Pink is a color between red and white on the color spectrum. The color got it’s name from a flower also called Pinks.

Pink is the color most often associated with charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, childhood, femininity and the romantic.

A combination of pink and white is associated with innocence.

We also wear a pink ribbon for Cancer awareness and here in South Africa National sport teams also wear pink for Cancer awareness.

I love pink, but I am not a big fan in wearing light colors. I would rather wear darker colors.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my post.

To be Calm….

To be calm is the highest achievement of the self. Zen Proverb

Since a young age I had trouble to be calm… As I grow older I understand that I need to calm myself. It is essential to keep my blood pressure down. But that is easier said than done.

Just as one think everything is falling in to place something happens and upset the whole apple cart….

I tried to meditate…. That was one big joke. I could not even shut down for a few minutes then my mind starts wondering…

I struggle to fall asleep at night and then to top it of I wake up around 3 o’clock in the middle of the night and then I struggle to fall asleep again. The doctor subscribed some medication to help me switch off but I don’t like the feeling of not being in control…

Now I have this tremendous challenge in front of me. I need to calm myself…

Tsaarbank what a surprise…

I have been visiting the Westcoast National Park for years now and never turned of to Tsaarbank…

This time we decided to go and have a look hoping that we don’t need a 4×4. Honestly I was under the impression that it was just a heap of white sand…. Well I could not have been more wrong… It is absolutely stunning and I want to kick myself everytime I think of what great photo opportunities I have missed….

I took some awesome photos of the waves crashing against the rocks. I only stayed in the parking lot because dad was with me and I don’t like leaving him alone. Dad would not have minded if I wandered of to explore more but that’s just not me.

There is nothing better than to visit the park when you have someone with you that shares in your love for nature and photography.

While busy writing this post I had a light bulb moment. Maybe I must plan a day trip and we can spend the day at Tsaarbank. There’s a nice beach and great picnic and braai area…

Here are some of the photos I took at Tsaarbank.

Mondays are Trash days….

Today is Monday… Trash day…. Also a public holiday so I kind of forgot about it… Slept a bit later than usual and while doing my daily morning routine of cleaning and sweeping I remembered about the trash…

Luckily for me everybody is running a little late this morning and I got my trash out in time….

While walking inside I saw a bird in my Yellowood tree. I did not recognize it and knocked on my son’s bedroom window and asked him to bring my camera.

I must say it was the longest wait I had in a while. I was afraid I am going to miss my opportunity to capture and identify these birds…

My son gave me my camera through his window and I started taking photos hoping that one or two will be in focus. The wind was blowing and it was a challenge but as you will see later I did manage to get a few shots.

Then a big truck passed my house and it scared these beautiful birds away. There were at least 10 that I could count when they flew of…

After I downloaded my photos I got my books out and started searching… I came across a photo of a Red-Faced Mousebird and was surprised. The last time I saw a Mousebird was while I was still living with my parents. We had a breeding pair of Speckled Mousebirdswho came back every year during breeding season and they used to annoy our dogs alot….

Here are the photo’s I could use from this morning….

116 days, 7 hours and 57 minutes before departure…

I am super excited about our visit to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in August 2019.

Not much to tick of our to do list anymore… We must still apply for our visas, pack our suitcases, finish up my trip planning for the last 3 days and then we are ready to go…

I don’t think I will have the opportunity to visit Scotland again so our trip planning is very important. I have lists of places we would like to see on route to our next destination. Luckily we are doing a selfdrive tour so we are in charge of what route we would like to take. Our travelagent Sarah did however gave us enough information and a route that covers most of what we would like to see.

The only problem is I have the tendency to change a 4 hour trip into a 10 hour trip… But at least my dad also like to take photos and stop alot so we are very good travel partners.

I cannot wait to share our Scotland trip with you….

Wrong turn to Mooimaak…

Well well my name will not be Coreen if I end up somewhere where I am not supposed to be….

On our way to Geelbek I saw a sign Mooimaak, well I took the turn off because there was no do not enter signs… It has been a while since I visited the park and thought may it’s a new road… Needless to say I was wrong it was a dead end and seems more for mountain biking….

I am very glad I took the turn off got some beautiful photos on this stretch of road…

As per tradition we always have a coffee break at Geelbek. This is also a good time to stretch our legs and well have a bathroom break.

Our next stop is Potsberg….
