50 Days!!!

Oh my word today only 50 days left before Dad and I fly to Scotland.

On Wednesday we applied and submitted al our documents for our UK visas. I am a bit nervous. I have heard stories of 3 different people that had applied and 3 months later still no passport at the Visa offices. The one lady had a flight for 13h00 and by 10h00 she still did not have her passport and visa….

On the notice boards and website it says 15 days…. I pray that ours will go smoothly….

I spend about 6 weeks researching all the places we would like to go and explore. Now I have a huge but exciting task ahead of me. Working out our route from town to town including all our stops and also allowing time for some extra stops not on our list. According to my research it only gets dark late at night that suits me perfectly. More time to capture the different sights. I hope to finish this over the next two weekends…

We are super excited about our holiday in Scotland. Can’t wait…

Berghoff Fynbos Farm Part 2 of 10

We visited Berghoff Fynbos Farm in December 2018 to celebrate dad’s birthday.

The road to the house was not really suitable for a sedan but we made it. When we got there the house was open and we could just walk in. I thought it was going to be very warm inside the house, but it was refreshing and cool… We sorted out the sleeping arrangements and started unpacking the car and got settled.

We then went outside to drink a cooldrink on the stoop and waited for my dad, brother and his wife and kids. They only came through a bit later.

The views however from the stoop was gorgeous and the first thing I unpacked was my camera and started clicking away…

After drinking my cooldrink I grabbed my camera and went exploring. I just could not sit still and admire the views from the stoop any longer. It was like an invisible hand pushed me to go and explore…

Now as you all know I love capturing flowers and beautiful landscapes. Berghoff Fynbos Farm surely don’t have shortage of both. The dam or pond what ever you like to call it was the focal point of most of my photo’s during the weekend and I promise you you will have seen it from different angels by the time we reach post 10 of our weekend.

I hope you enjoy my walk with me…. Oh and if you see the photo of a stick. Look closely it is not a stick… I was taking photos of a flower when the stick walked over the pathway underneath the flower. The sudden movement startled me a bit until I saw it was a stick insect.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my post.

Quick photo stop at Vygeboomdam

During school holidays my boyfriends daughter come visit us. I always try to take her out at least twice a week.

Although I have alot of editing work waiting at home I also take my camera with and well you guessed it make some more edit work for myself. But it is worth it. To see her running around, exploring and when she sees something the way her little face lit up is priceless…

Vygeboomdam is not that big and although the sign says no fishing the people don’t care they do just as they please… It is no wonder there were only a handful of ducks to see.

It is no wonder they say humans are the most dangerous animals on earth. Some humans have only their own interest at heart and do not think how their actions impacts nature around them.

What to do when loadshedding start….

In the beginning of the year we had a lot of loadshedding. One Sunday afternoon we decided to braai and tried to pass the time. Every session was around 2 hours. It was a hot day and much cooler outside.

I took my camera out and started taking photos of the birds in the trees and of the sky…..

Here is some of the photos taken of the birds in the trees…. I also played around with the settings that is why some of the sky is lighter and others darker.

My favorite part of the evening was when I started taking photos of the ever changing clouds… See if you can spot the smiley face in the clouds…

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and I look forward to hearing from you.

Berghoff Fynbos Farm Part 1/10

Dad turned 72 in December 2018 and for the first time in years we went away as a family.

My dad Ivan, myself, my two handsome boys Armand, Lian, my boyfriend Mornè, his daughter Desiree, my Brother Wouter, his wife Kathleen, their two little ones Aran and Morgan. Never since I moved out of the house have we went away as a family.

Spending time with family is very important to me.

Berghoff Fynbos Farm is a great place to have a break from the hustle and bustle of city live.

I told the children we would be cut off from the outside world, but to our surprise when we got there they left us a Wi-Fi code. The children were in 7th heaven but to my surprise they did not sit looking at their little screens the whole day.

We played fingerboard and later they started playing cards.

As I share more photos of our visit to Berghoff I will tell you some more about our weekend.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.
