This was the first time that I saw a make up artist carry his brushes in his pockets…
Making Picture-Perfect Memories for life
Myriad memories frozen in time
On Friday 8 March 2013 the South African Guide Dog Association had a Boerewors Roll sale at Sanlam Head office in Bellville to raise funds. Some Guide dogs and their owners as well as two puppies and their trainers came to visit.
It was a wet and cold Friday, but the rain did not put a damper on the fundraising.
By lunchtime the guide dogs were showered with attention and people wanting to know more about the dogs and how the training work.
All these lovely people supported the South African Guide Dog Association by buying a Boerewors Roll or two…
Preparing the Sausages for the Boerewors Rolls
The South African Guide Dog Association trains on average 65 guide dogs per year for the blind and visually impaired. The process is human intensive and the guide dogs are trained over and 18 month period. The first phase is spent with their “Puppy Raisers”, dedicated families and individuals who “adopt” a young guide dog puppy for 12 months. Thereafter the young guide dog in training returns to the SAGA centre and is allocated to a qualified guide dog mobility instructor who will formally train the dog for a further 6 months until it is allocated to a blind recipient. You can sponsor a puppy for R3500 or a full guide dog for R10 000.

Well my Stars said that my hard work of the past few years will be paying off this year. One thing is for sure if my husband did not get me to be a photographer at the Varingfees in 2010 and 2011 I would not be the official Photographer at the Sunshine Festival held by Alta Du Toit Aftercare Centre. I am truly blessed and I give all my thanks to my Heavenly Father and my friends and family for all their support.
Last night at the opening of the first Sunshine Festival we watched the Theater production Dinner for One at the Bat Theater and it was absolutely fantastic.
A while back I was playing with my camera trying to figure out how to blur out the background in my home studio. Well something went wrong…. Armand was a blur and the frogs eyes in focus. I was frustrated but after a while I got a liking in this photo…. In the mean while I practiced some more and realized that I need more space if I want to achieve what I had in mind. Someday I’ll buy a house and convert it into a photographic studio. Till then I thank our Heavenly Father for what I have…
While I was busy editing some golf day photo’s on Sunday I came across this shot. I could not help myself had to start laughing. Hubby still tried to come up with an excuse for the poor man. Maybe he is left handed…. Then I showed him the sequence. After a while I told hubby that I better stop laughing I am only learning the game of golf now and in a few months from now it could be me….
We went De Hollandsche Molen for the day a few weeks back. After breakfast my parents and I went for a walk to look at the new houses and like always I had to carry my camera with just in case… I took the photo of the sign on the one gate and when I got to the other gate of the home this not so scary little dog greeted us.
