A while back I got an email from Armand’s shooting coach and teacher. She wanted to book a family shoot for her and the three men in her life.
We went to Joostenberg Bistro on the R304 for their photo shoot. Of course I took Armand with to assist me with the shoot. We had a blast and laughed alot. It took the oldest a while to warm up to the camera an in the end the boys were literally swinging in the trees….

Danette contacted me one day and asked if I do vintage shoots… Well I never did one before but as you all know by now I never say no to learn something new…. First I panicked because what do I use for props? Then one afternoon I was dusting my show cabinet and there it was…. Old camera’s, my toy car my grandfather bought me when I was small, my Mother’s sewing machine from her childhood a old telephone my Father brought home one day and the list goes on….. In the end I had lot’s to choose from.
I hardly ever do set up’s for my shoots but after doing this Vintage shoot I think I’ll do it more often. I just have no idea where I am going to put all the props…. When it came to the editing of the shoot I did not do much I just played with the different effects.
I am very happy with the end results of this shoot

I met Natasha and her kids about three years back. I was very honored when she asked me to do their family portraits for them.
Normally children take a while to warm up to the camera, but not these two. They had their own ideas of how they would like to pose. The shoot was a breeze. Before we could blink the shoot was done.

A few months before Dudley’s matric farewell his mother phoned and asked if it would be okay if is best friends are included in the photo shoot. My answer was the more the merrier….

The original plan for Zaide’s Matric Farewell shoot was to go to a farm on the Bottelary road, but unfortunately they ran late and we had to improvise.
I ended up taking some photo’s in a neighbours garden and in the driveway a few houses down the road. The wind was also acting up and we had to make it a quick session.

I launched a Mothers day competition in May month. My student Lizette was the lucky one who won a photo shoot with me. We had a ball and she got first hand experience on how it feels to be a client at my studio. AJ her oldest child loved posing for the camera, Janco on the other hand had to be bribed. In the end we got lovely photo’s of them and even Janco could not stop laughing….
A few months back I had the pleasure to capture Yolandè and her mother Aletta volunteered to pose for me so that my student can get some exposure to studio photography.

WOW what a rush opening night was. The models started getting ready from about 3 O’Clock the afternoon. Then while some was busy with hair and make up the rest walked the ramp to get the feel of it. The day was filled with laughter, talking and of course taking snapshots… I went back stage a few times to capture the buzz but space was a problem so I just took a few and then moved back to the stage area where I captured the models practicing.
The little one’s was so confident I think some of them have more confidence in their pinkie that I have some days… Oh my and when they are on that ramp they have attitude and some of them walk just like the models on Fashion TV.
Here are just a few collages of the photo’s I took.
After the show some of the models mingled in their tie dresses with the guests while enjoying a finger dinner. The designers posed with the guests and models and we all just had a great time…

Estrolita Petersen are one of my photography clients. I first met her when Mrs Cape Town Chantal Witthuhn introduced us and I did a portfolio shoot with her.
She phoned me 4 days prior to the opening of ZEEZ and asked if I could come and capture this special event. I did not even think twice.
What a lovely evening we had. The food was great and we all got some tips on how to do our make up in only a few steps… I do not really like make up but in the fashion and beauty industry unfortunately I must also look the part. Even though my face are behind the camera 95% of the time.
Estrolita I wish you all the best for your new adventure with ZEEZ.
I had the pleasure to capture little Wihan at 2 weeks. He was born on 34 weeks. This little boy was wide awake in the beginning of the shoot but we got him to settle down in the end.
I had to laugh even though he was born early this little boy had very strong legs and boy oh boy he wanted them stretched out not tucked in. Later I just let him be. My motto is baby must be comfortable.
For more on his shoot please visit my website under Newborn to 12 Months.
Conrad’s 3 month shoot was great. I dressed him like a little bee. He looked to cute. He started smiling when you talk to him. Love this little man to bits.

Gerda-Mari was one of the winners of the two vouchers I sponsored for the Miss Winelands Petite 2014 Pageant. This lady is so beautiful I had no problem filling up my memory cards with photo’s of her. She made the most simple outfit look absolutely fantastic…. It took us a while to get a booking that was convenient for everybody but it was surely worth the wait.
A few weeks back we had our second meeting for this awesome project by Mrs Cape Town 2013 Chantal Whitthuhn.

I had the wonderful opportunity to capture the beautiful Chantal, Mrs Cape Town 2013 a few weeks back.
We had a blast and 2 hours went by in a wink of a eye. Chantal brought along her hairdresser and in the end she had help hold up the Collar of the stunning Tie Design Dress by Hein Smit. Chantal wanted it up and on that day it just did not want to stay up. It must have been the heat…
Here are some of the behind the scene photo’s.

About a week ago I had the pleasure to capture this lovely family.
Lady Benesia (7) just love the camera had no problem getting her to pose for a photo.
Little Master Eden (5) on the other hand was a bit difficult but with my magic and my finger always on the shutter button I got some awesome shots of him. In the end he did not want to stop posing for the camera. We really underestimate the power of a lollipop….
Little Master Christopher (4 weeks) was not feeling himself but he did give us the opportunity to capture him in between tears….
Claire and Fernando got married on 30 November 2013. What a beautiful and very windy day it was. Claire got dressed at the Greens Lodge. Wow what a lovely setting this was. But due to running out of time the photo options here was very little.. I did take some photo’s of the bride outside but the wind made it very difficult and blew her hair and Veil all over the place.
We then had to go all the way to Sandrift for the ceremony. The Father kept the ceremony sweet and short and it was over in a flash. We took a few photo’s of the kids and then we went to Parow Golf Club where the reception was held.
All though the wind was howling we did go down to the golf course to take some photo’s at one stage the wind and sun was so bad that we headed back to the reception. I was not very happy with what we got on the golf course so later the evening when the light was much softer I called Claire and Fernando for a few extra photo’s….
I wish Claire and Fernando all the best for their future together as husband and wife. May their love grow stronger and stronger as time goes by.
If you would like to see some more of Claire and Fernando’s Special day please visit my website.
I had the wonderful opportunity to capture the beautiful Maritsa on 7 December 2013.
Maritsa won one of the vouchers I sponsored for the Mrs Cape Town Pageant. She was 2nd Princess and are Beautiful inside and out. I only met her for the first time on 7 December but she is a really fun person to work with.
Her photo’s came out stunning and I have to thank my Co-Sponsor Sunette Olivier of Something Beautiful for doing an amazing job as usual with hair and make-up. I love working with Sunette she really knows her stuff and I never have to worry about touching up when she did the make up. I can recommend Sunette to any bride you won’t be sorry you made use of this lovely passionate lady…
For more photo’s of Maritsa’s shoot please visit my website.
WOW I can’t believe how time goes by. A year ago I was in Durban to capture my best friends wedding. What a special day it was for my friend and his new wife. When they read their vows to each other it brought tears to my eyes….
Johan and Marietjie may the rest of your lives be as beautiful as a year ago an may your love just grow stronger and stronger each day.
Sinead’s 21st party was held at Sinovuyo on the R304. I’ve driven and cycled pass this venue hundreds of times but never even thought of dropping in. I will go and visit them in the near future and take some more photo’s of the venue.
Sinead’s party was very stylish and fit for a “Billionaire in the making” as she refers to herself. I wish her all the best for her future and that all her dreams will come true.
Louhn’s bump really grew the past month. She looks absolutely radiant. At the end of Louhn’s Baby Bump shoot I asked the children to come and pose with mom.
I’ve been following a online Workshop that Sue Bryce (Glamour Photographer) and Kelly Brown (Newborn to 12 month Photographer) did a while back. With every video I watch I learn so much more. I am very happy to try the techniques I’ve learned from watching Sue Bryce.
A while back I took some photo’s of Lizelle just before little master Louis-Thomas was born. Well the wait is over here are some of the photo’s taken on his 4 week shoot. Looking forward to his ne
My special friend Louhn is expecting a little baby boy and we decided to document her pregnancy and also little master Conrad’s first year….. So looking forward to meeting this little boy I know I am going to spoil him rotten….
On 21 May 2013 I had the pleasure to capture Lise and Sean only 2 days before she was going to become a mommy and daddy. I could not believe how flexible Lise was and it really looked like she had fun with her shoot. She was smiling from ear to ear.
On 23 May 2013 Sean and Lise were blessed with a beautiful baby girl Casey Madison.
On 14 May I had the pleasure to do a Portrait session with Daniela. Daniela did not realize that an portrait session could be so exhausting. After an hour she was quite tired and I was very happy with what I have seen on the back of the camera. I could not wait to download and get editing on her photo’s. I must say it came out stunning….
Here are a few of her photo’s in Black and White….
On Thursday 4 April 2013 I had the privilege to capture this lovely Red head. When I asked her if she knows how to pose she said and I quote… “I have no idea how to pose.”
She was very nervous but as soon as the camera was aimed in her direction she seemed at home. Just as if she belongs there. Oh and it turned out she do know how to pose just needed some minor adjustments here and there.
