A few weeks back we had our first meeting for this awesome project by Mrs Cape Town 2013 Chantal Whitthuhn.
We are collecting ties old, new, unused, unwanted any shape and size for three designers who will then design 12 outfits each made out of these ties. I am looking forward to seeing what they came up with. These 36 outfits will then be auctioned off on the Gala evening to raise funds for the Children of Cape Town. More on the event at a later stage.
Meet Our three designers are Hein Smit, Saskia Wicomb and Marshal Enyloma.
Photographers that are going to be involved with this project is. Martin van Niekerk and myself of course.
The Event is going to be held at the All Star Theatre and will stretch over two days. 27 and 28 June 2014.
Here are some of the behind the scenes photo’s I took.

WOW I can’t believe how time goes by. A year ago I was in Durban to capture my best friends wedding. What a special day it was for my friend and his new wife. When they read their vows to each other it brought tears to my eyes….
Johan and Marietjie may the rest of your lives be as beautiful as a year ago an may your love just grow stronger and stronger each day.
Happy first Anniversary!!!
This was the first time that I saw a make up artist carry his brushes in his pockets…
On Saturday I took Aran for an outing to my favorite place, Joostenberg Bistro on the R304. Lian came with and they enjoyed themselves. Some more of this outing at later date….
On Friday morning I had the great pleasure to take some photo’s at a fundraiser for the South African Guide Dog Association. The rain was pouring down but the guide dogs and their trainers and owners did not mind. More photo’s later about this event.
Well my Stars said that my hard work of the past few years will be paying off this year. One thing is for sure if my husband did not get me to be a photographer at the Varingfees in 2010 and 2011 I would not be the official Photographer at the Sunshine Festival held by Alta Du Toit Aftercare Centre. I am truly blessed and I give all my thanks to my Heavenly Father and my friends and family for all their support.
Last night at the opening of the first Sunshine Festival we watched the Theater production Dinner for One at the Bat Theater and it was absolutely fantastic.
“For there is no friend like a sister in calm or stormy weather; To cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray, to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands.”
Just love this one with flowers along the road and the view of the ocean….
I am busy editing our trip to the West Coast National Park so for the next few days you will be spoiled with flowers and landscapes…. I know the black and white photo’s don’t look as lovely as the color ones.
Having fun on the trampoline at Thomas’s party…
A while back I was playing with my camera trying to figure out how to blur out the background in my home studio. Well something went wrong…. Armand was a blur and the frogs eyes in focus. I was frustrated but after a while I got a liking in this photo…. In the mean while I practiced some more and realized that I need more space if I want to achieve what I had in mind. Someday I’ll buy a house and convert it into a photographic studio. Till then I thank our Heavenly Father for what I have…
While I was busy editing some golf day photo’s on Sunday I came across this shot. I could not help myself had to start laughing. Hubby still tried to come up with an excuse for the poor man. Maybe he is left handed…. Then I showed him the sequence. After a while I told hubby that I better stop laughing I am only learning the game of golf now and in a few months from now it could be me….
This morning I had a shoot at Ace Models Brackenfell. Sunette wanted some photo’s of the young models. This particular little girl is a natural and she had no problem with the camera.
