Due to the lack of internet connection I could not post my photo of the day as I wished. We had a lovely time at Alpine Heath.
My photo of the day for 30 June 2012 is of our friends that stay in Benoni. We had a quick family shoot at a dam a few kilometres from their house. As soon as I edit all the photo’s I will post some more photo’s.
This morning we took the boys down to the lake so that they can go and play and climb in the trees.
I went my own way looking for the Mother Coot and her chicks and the Kingfisher but no luck. So I went and sit on the little bench and watched the Geese and ducks swimming on the lake. I heard the Hadida’s screaming and the next moment they were flying off. I got this one just in time…
What a lovely winters day did we have. The sun was shining and we just had a light breeze here in Benoni.
Ronald, the boys and I went down to the lake again. I hoped to capture some close ups of the little Coot chicks but they were to far and the rest was between the reeds.
Yesterday we walked only to the one side and today we went in the opposite direction. We got to a spot where the geese was bathing and I spotted a LBJ with one long beak. Just when I had it in my sight and pressed the shutter button it flew off… So before Friday I want a photo of that specific LBJ. We were very lucky to see the Geese bathing and I got some lovely shots of them spreading their wings.
Yesterday Hubby saw a blue bird and today we saw it again at the same spot. It was a Kingfisher I did get some shots of it but once again I want to get closer so tomorrow morning I’m waiting for it. It’s times like these that I wish I had a 500mm lens…
