Dirk van der Westhuizen is a very talented singer/songwriter from Pretoria. He had everybody on their feet dancing during his performance. To be honest I was exhausted  just looking at him jumping up and down on stage…  Sooo much energy….
He wrote his first song at age 12. In 2012 Dirk shot to fame when he recorded his South African version of the Gangnam Style. He received millions of hits on You Tube.

I met and photographed Wynand and Cheree for the first time in 2007 at the Varingfees with my little Pentax camera. Since then I have had the honor of capturing them on more than one occasion. Â These two artists has got hearts of gold.
This duo couple have a very full live. They are blessed with two beautiful daughters and both have their separate singing/songwriting careers also. Â Little Taylor-Hope joined her mommy on stage at the Sonskynfees. She stole many hearts with her performance.

My visit to Intaka Island… Just before I headed back home something told me to go back to the deck where I started that morning. This Heron was looking at something and I was hoping to catch it catching his prey. Instead something funny happened in the end… He tried to fly and his leg got caught in the weeds and he crashed into the water. He gathered himself and off he went…

Intaka Island is one of my favourite places to go and relax. One can’t believe that this peaceful place is in the middle of the city. Here I can take photo’s of flowers and do a little birding as well.

It was a cold and rainy morning but that did not stop us walking through the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. I love spending time with my parents and my boys. Unfortunately my husband had to work and could not join us. We tried to cover the whole garden but with me wanting to capture every little flower time caught up with us and I decided to visit the garden again. Here are some more photo’s I took. Time caught up with us and we had to leave the park before closing time. These photo’s were taken on our way out of the park…
One can’t seem to notice the difference in the sky from one side of the road to the other side. One side was partly cloudy but still had blue skies the other side was dark and very cloudy with hardly any blue sky…

Oudebaaskraal Dam
Oudebaaskraal dam was built on the Tankwa River in 1969 by Judge Alwyn Burger this was the largest privately owned dam in South Africa, until taken over by the park in 2007.
