28 Weeks of practicing Gratitude….

” Giving thanks for food before you eat is a tradition that has been followed for thousands of years, dating back to the ancient Egyptians. With the fast pace of life in the twenty-first century, taking the time to give thanks for a meal has more often than not been left behind. But using the simple act of eating and drinking is an opportunity to be grateful will increase the magic in your life exponentially!

To feel even more gratitude for food, take a moment and think about all the people who contributed to you having food to eat. For you to eat fresh fruit and vegetables, the growers had to plant and nurture the fruit and vegetables with continuous watering, protecting them over many months until thy were ready for harvesting. Then there are the pickers, the packers, and the distributors, and the transportation people who drive enormous distances day and night, all of them working together in perfect harmony to ensure that every fruit and vegetable is delivered fresh to you, and is available year round.”

Are you grateful for the food and water that you receive on a daily basis? Do you say thank you for it on a daily basis?

Have you ever sat down and think about your plate of food? How many people have contributed so that you can have that plate of food. We must also remember that food and water is a gift from nature. Without food and water we would not survive.

Over next few days try to get back into the habit of being grateful and say thank you for the food and beverages you consume. Sit down and thank everybody that has participated to ensure that you have a cooked meal or hot cup of coffee. From the farmer to the cook.

REMEMBER TO SAY THANK YOU BEFORE YOU EAT OR DRINK SOMETHING!!!!

Daily gratitude routine.

  1. When you wake up to a new day, before doing a single thing say, Thank You.
  2. Say, Thank you for the magical day I am going to have.
  3. From the moment you put your feet on the ground until you finished your morning routine, say the magic words, Thank You, in your mind for everything you touch and use.
  4. Go through my plans for the day in my mind and say, Thank you in advance for it going smoothly.
  5. Say, Thank you for the great news coming to me today!
  6. Count your blessings: Make a list of 10 blessings. Write why you’re grateful for each blessing. Reread your list and say “Thank you, thank you, thank you” Feeling gratitude for each blessing.
  7. Identify 2 relationships and write 5 things you are grateful for in the person. It can be a family member, a friend, a colleague even a pet. During the day say “Thank you, name.”
  8. Say thank your for your different body parts, organs and your senses. Be grateful for each of them.
  9. Four times a day read the words on the card slowly and be grateful for your health. (THE GIFT OF HEALTH IS KEEPING ME ALIVE.)
  10. Four times or more a day look at your Magic Bill and be grateful for the abundance of money you have been given in your life. (THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MONEY I’VE BEEN GIVEN THROUGHOUT MY LIFE.)
  11. While at work, look for things to be grateful for. Say to yourself. ‘I am so grateful for ……….’
  12. Try to go through the day without saying or thinking anything negative. If you think negative thoughts stop immediately and say but I am really grateful for…..
  13. Say, Thank you and be grateful every time you eat of drink something.
  14. When someone perform a service that benefits you, look them in the face and say, Thank you.
  15. For 90 seconds, say Thank you every time you take a step.
  16. Practice my heart magic.
  17. Take 5 deep breaths during the day and say, Thank you for the magical air that I breathe.
  18. Before going to bed, take your magic rock/gratitude rock in your hand and think about all the things to be grateful for that happened the day and say, Thank you.

Good day friends,

Hope you are all doing great.

For todays practice we had to Remember yesterday’s blessings. I would like to share one of mine with you.

Over the weekend my Microwave Oven broke. Yesterday I took it back to be fixed. I was so grateful that it broke while still under warrantee. I always take out extended warrantee on my big home appliances but this would only start on 11 September 2021. I got to client services and spoke to the lady behind the counter. I could see she was new and was struggling to get the codes. She phoned someone and then she came back to me very nervous. She told me that according to her supervisor they do not take Microwave ovens in for repairs anymore. She refunded me the full purchase price as well as the extended Warrantee premium I paid.

Now I have a brand new Microwave Oven with a 10 Year Warrantee. I am so grateful for the new Microwave oven. This one has an awesome power saving mode. Looking forward to heating up many dishes in the future.

I am dedicating Mondays for our continued Gratitude practice. We can’t stop now. Good day friends.

Welcome to my brand new post. I hope you will enjoy it and do the 28 Days of Gratitude Activities with me.

This is not a challenge, it’s to help you and me form a habit of being grateful, and after 28 days, we do not stop. We continue. It does not take that long to do, and you can do your activities throughout the day. I would recommend you make yourself a gratitude journal to do the activities in. You can do it either in a book, on your phone or, on your computer. I made myself a book; I like to write things down in my own handwriting.

For the past 7 days, I incorporated the 28 Days of Gratitude Activities/ practices into my Good Morning Posts. For those who did not follow my Good Morning Posts here are the links to the different days.

Day 8: Say Thank You

How many of us say thank you every time we eat or drink something? Not many, including me. I can remember that we had dinner at the dining room table. Before we even start dishing up; we held hands while dad prayed to say thank you for the food. Somewhere along the way, this practice of gratitude fell through the cracks.

Have you ever been so hungry and thirsty that you are trembling, you are weak and you can’t concentrate? We all need food and something to drink to keep us alive and healthy. Food is a gift to us and we must be grateful.

We must not only be grateful for the food we eat. We must be grateful for the farmer and his farmworkers who grow the vegetables and fruit. We must be grateful for the farmers who supply us with meat, milk, and eggs. We must be grateful for the people who take the raw materials and prepare them and package them for our use. We must be grateful for the truck drivers who bring the goods to the market and the supermarkets where we buy them. The list can go on and on.

Today’s activity will help us to get into the habit of saying thank you again. Every time when you take something to eat or to drink think about it and say thank you. You can do this out loud or in your mind.

I am adding today’s activity to my daily gratitude routine.
