When we reached the little town of Aggeneys I could not believe how small it is. The mine on the one side and some houses and in the main road there was a garage, laundry and a general dealer. Luckily for me the general dealer had a small take away inside. I was very hungry and bought us each a “large” chips or must I say it was more like a small chips…

About 4 km after we saw our first nest we saw one that was still in progress. The weavers flew in and out of the nest. We spend nearly half an hour just watching and capturing this progress and teamwork.

On the long road to Upington I got very hungry and I told my parents that I was going to look for a take away at the nearest town. I then took the turn off to a little mining town Aggeneys. Not long after the turnoff we spotted the first Sosial weaver birds nest. I stopped and just had to capture it. I found it fascinating. Unfortunately this one was empty no weavers in sight.
