Stagecoach Somerset West featuring on website.

WOW I can’t believe that 5 months has gone by. Yes time do fly when you are busy. Well as they say never late than never.

Stagecoach Somerset West was one of the performing acts at the Save the Tie, Save a Child Fashion show. I enjoyed their performance allot and I was very impressed with the talents I saw. These kids and their coaches rock….

Here are just some background information I got from their website.

“If your child is creative and you have been looking at the various dance schools, drama classes and singing lessons available in the area, Stagecoach Somerset West is the answer. Stagecoach is more than just a stage school, theatre school or drama school: it is a full and rounded education, teaching life skills that build confidence and stretch imaginations. Every child needs an outlet for their natural creativity, and at Stagecoach, we nurture their sparks of inspiration and watch them grow over time into talents and confidence.  It may be that your child simply needs an opportunity to develop their self-esteem in a safe and nurturing environment, away from competitive social challenges. If you are looking for dance classes, singing lessons or acting classes for your child, Stagecoach Somerset West has it all … and all under one roof.”  Principal Melanie Williss.

Save the Tie Save a Child Fashion show Opening Night: Behind the Scenes

WOW what a rush opening night was. The models started getting ready from about 3 O’Clock the afternoon. Then while some was busy with hair and make up the rest walked the ramp to get the feel of it. The day was filled with laughter, talking and of course taking snapshots… I went back stage a few times to capture the buzz but space was a problem so I just took a few and then moved back to the stage area where I captured the models practicing.

The little one’s was so confident I think some of them have more confidence in their pinkie that I have some days… Oh my and when they are on that ramp they have attitude and some of them walk just like the models on Fashion TV.

Here are just a few collages of the photo’s I took.

After the show some of the models mingled in their tie dresses with the guests while enjoying a finger dinner. The designers posed with the guests and models and we all just had a great time…

The Psychedelic Theatre Featuring on Website

I was asked to photograph three ladies from The Psychedelic Theatre a while back.

The day of the shoot I was as sick as a dog but it did not stop me at all. When I got to the All Star Theatre  I got one big surprise they were busy building the set for show that was filmed there.

I had to do their shoot in a small corner on the original stage with dust and very low light. I  did the shoot in Manual mode and for some photo’s I had to crank up my ISO to 4000 and my Shutter speed 1/45 sec. To put the icing on the cake I did not have my tripod with me so I did this all handheld.

Save the Tie Save a Child Meeting 2 Featuring on Website

A few weeks back we had our second meeting for this awesome project by Mrs Cape Town 2013 Chantal Whitthuhn.

We are collecting ties old, new, unused, unwanted any shape and size for three designers who will then design 12 outfits each made out of these ties. I am looking forward to seeing what they came up with. These 36 outfits will then be auctioned off to raise funds for the Children of Cape Town.

Time is really flying now before we know it the big night is upon us. So far I am feeling blessed to have this opportunity to work with this wonderful team. Knowing we are playing a role in a brighter future for some of the kids of  Cape Town….

The Event is going to be held at the All Star Theatre and will stretch over two days. 27 and 28 June 2014.
