Willow Shenanigans

It was very hot today and the garden needed some water. I decided to use the sprayer and see what Willow will do. She loved it.

🐾Good morning to all my human friends🐾

Do I have some news for you. Mom told me that I must tell you all about my visit to the beach yesterday.  So here goes….

Yesterday morning Mom woke me up very early. It was still dark outside and that big light  in the sky was still switched off.  Mom then put her face covering around her neck, and then she went into her office and got her camera bag. I call it I will be back soon bag. When she takes that bag I stay at home and Mom goes out by herself. She do give me treats though.

Mom and Dad called me and told me we are going to the beach. Beach????? I did not know what that is.  Now I understand why Mom was putting stuff in the car and an blanket on the backseat the previous evening. I wondered why she put my bath towels, a water bowl and a bottle of water in the back of the car.

We drove for a very long time. When Mom stopped she went to the back of the car and took out her camera and Dad took me out of the car. Mom was walking one way and Dad took me in the opposite direction. I did not like that at all. I wanted to go to Mom. She climbed on to big stones and Dad told me that I am going to hurt myself if I go after Mom. I called her but she only came back a little while later. I was so worried I could not see her she just disappeared behind the big stones.

After a while we saw Mom again and she was taking photos of the water and all those big stones dad calls rocks. She showed Dad the back of her camera and said that she is finish and we can go. We got back in the car and I did not understand is this the beach? I did not understand what all the fuss was about. I did not even went for a proper walk.

Mom drove for a short while and then we got out again. Then I saw it…..

WOOOOFFSEEE what a big pool, everywhere you look is just water that come and greet you and run away again. I wonder why the water is afraid of me. There was also lots and lots of sand. Dad said I can dig as many holes as I want to here.

My first walk on the beach….

Dad took the movie of Mom and me playing in the water.

Mom said as soon as I listen to her when she calls me back and stop pulling and running off she will take my leash off and I can go play in the sand and water. But for now Mom says it is safer for me to be on the leash.

I gave Mom some proper exercise we ran in the water and when Mom and I turned to run back to Dad the water grabbed Moms foot and she fell down in the water, I pulled as hard as I could to save her from the water…. Mom got up and laughed she thought it was so funny. She told Dad that one moment there was sand the next moment nothing, just water.

Mom, Dad and I walked along the beach and then the sand started hurting us, Mom said it is broken shells and it can cut my paws and their feet. We turned around and went back to the car. Mom gave me some water in my bowl but I was not that thirsty but Mom insisted that I drink some and gave me some water in her hands. Then she took out my bath towels and dried me.

We got back in the car and we drove home. I was very tired and slept nearly all the way home.

Me looking at all the water and sand
Me looking at all the water
Mom are you okay after your fall?
Me checking out the birds
Me playing in the water.
OOOH goodness I am so tired….
It is just to much effort to sit up on the seat. I rather sit on the floor and use the seat as resting place for my head.

Yesterday afternoon Mom and Dad watched movies and I caught up on some lost sleep. Who would have thought that an early morning run and walk along the beach can make one so very tired.

At home…. What a morning….

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed our outing to the beach.

Have a fabulous day.

🐾Good morning everybody,

What a morning. I was standing guard while Mom is giving Granddad his morning food. That’s when I saw something flying into the driveway. I told the thing to go away but it just moved closer to the gate.

After Mom finished in Granddad’s flat she came out and asked me what’s wrong. I then showed her the flying creature in the driveway.

What did Mom do? The most irresponsible thing you can think of!!! She opened the gate and invited the flying creature into our backyard. She clearly did not understand that it could be aliens trying to hurt us all.

I told it to leave us alone, and go away. Mom thought it was very funny and laughed the whole time. Even Snuffels smelled the flying creature’s butt and just walked away.

I could not understand how they can be so calm about something that moves around without legs and it can fly too. What kind of creature is this??????? And then it had the audacity to drink my water without asking!

Mom told me it is alright that it will not harm us. She invited it inside and now it is hiding under Moms bed.

Thank you for reading my post.

Have a fabulous day.

Loadshedding a perfect excuse for an outing.

Nothing cheers me up like a walk in nature.

We had loadshedding again this afternoon from 2:00pm till 4:30pm. I had 3 options, catch up on some sleep, take Willow for a walk, or go and recapture this mornings flower photos.

Yes, this mornings handheld photos with my 18-55mm lens was one big disaster I started going through it and had to delete about 90% of the photos. I definitely do not have a steady hand…

But like I said next time I will double check before I start using any lens handheld.

Well we were not supposed to have loadshedding but like always Eskom knows just how to cheer me up by giving me 2 hours to go and explore more locations.

I have done a few family and portrait portfolio shoots at the Majik Forrest in the past.

Today was the first time I explored it a little bit. My oldest and his girlfriend came with and she showed me a few different paths I can take. I was blown away by all the different compositions, not even mentioning all the wildflowers.

I willbe returning there this weekend if the weather permits. I want to capture the wildflowers. The trees, moss and other compositions will still be there a month or two from now.

Here is just a few photos I took on our walk today. Willow enjoyed the water a lot.

I am not sure if I will take her in the forest again, I will rather stick to my normal route when I take her. She was covered in ticks. Not sure if there is a tick repellent for dogs.

That’s all for now friends. I am heading to bed early again need to go back to Botterblom in the morning to see if I can find all the blurry flowers.

Good night, Sweet dreams

Willow loves playing outside and with winter nearly finished I am looking forward to playing with her in the garden or what is left of it anyway. Willow has been digging all over the. The lawn has a lot of sandpits now. I try to take her for walks whenever we have a nice day.

Something got her attention….
If nobody wants to play with me I’ll play with myself….
Love playing with her rope toy.
Is this better mommy?

Willow love her stuffed animals. Well they were stuffed at the time the photos was taken. I had to take out the stuffing so that she don’t eat it. I don’t want her to get sick.

She really likes her unstuffed giraffe. When she gets excited she will go look for it and start throwing it in the air. She also use it as payment for treats…. When I am busy working and she want treats she will throw the giraffe on my lap or put it on my desk and then she will look in the direction of the treats.

This is how her stuff toys look like now.

Her first stuff toy still has his filling
Her second stuff toy she chose this one herself has a arm, two eyes and stuffing that is missing. I tried to repair it…
Her third stuff toy she also chose this one. It is the other lions twin. Well he lost his stuffing and eye.

Hurricane Willow Struck again…

Willow Shenanigans: 20 August 2021

When you go outside in the morning and found that a mini hurricane with the name of Willow hit your garden the previous evening…

Even if you take her for walks, play with her and give her tons of affection and treats she still has to be naughty. I did found that the days we went out for walks that evening she goes into destructive mode.

Hurricane Willow struck again….
“I wonder what happened here mommy…..”
“I wonder what happened here mommy sniff sniff don’t smell anything weird…..”
“Before mom realize it was me, I better distract her.”
Running around like a mad dog with her stuffed lion.
“Look mommy the hurricane did not blow away my lion.”

Thank you for visiting with me and Willow.

Good morning all my human friends,

Mom took me to Sonstraaldam again this morning. I had such a lovely walk.

In the beginning I did not want to listen to mom. There was so many new smells I just had to chase and smell them all. But I soon realized that if I do not stop pulling mom is going to take me to the car and then we are going home. She told me so.

We had such a great time walking today. George the Cocker Spaniel and his sister was also there. They had another furry dog with them who kept barking at me in her high pitch voice. It was so annoying I could not hear a word George said. I do hope we see George and his mom again sometime.

On our second round around the dam mom stopped a lot to take photos so that I can show you how beautiful it is. I had such a good time that when we had to come home I did not want to get in the car. Mom said if I don’t get in she is not bringing me to the dam anymore. So I got in, I will miss all the Ducks, Geese, Guineafowl and the friends I meet along the walk.

I am going to miss our walks next week when mom and Granddad goes away to take photos and look at the flowers.

Mommy uploaded some of the photos she took with her cellphone. I was a good girl when mom took her photos I sat patiently and wait for her to finish. One of these days mommy can bring her big camera and take even more beautiful photos.

That’s it for now friends. Mommy wants to edit some photos. I am so tired of all the exercise I am going to take a nap.

Bye for now…

Willow Shenanigans: 13 August 2021

We have not taken that many photos the past month. It was raining a lot and we did not play outside that much. I hope to take much more photos with my camera of Willow when the days get warmer and we spend some more time outdoors. At the moment most of the photos of Willow is taken with my cellphone.

At the moment I try to take Willow out on drives and we go to Sonstraaldam and walk around the dam a few times.

She loves to go for drives, I cannot open the car door when she is around she gets in and it is a struggle to get her out.

These photos was taken with my cellphone.

Sniff sniff… Mom went shopping without me. I smell treats….
Who went with her…. OOOh I smell Grandpa….
Maybe if I am good she will take me for a drive….
Weekly outing to Sonstraaldam….
I am so curious….
Okay mommy we can go home now. I am tired…

Willow took me for a walk this morning…

This morning Willow did not want to get up. But when I took my buff she was of the bed tail wagging. She knew something was going to happen.

When I took the car keys and her leash she did not run around like two days ago. I think she learned her lesson if she don’t sit so that I can put her leash on she stays home and I go out without her. This morning she came and sit infront of me so that I could put on her leash.

She ran to the car and when I opened the door she was inside.

It was a beautiful morning and we encounter a few dog walkers this morning. Willow took me for a walk this morning. My arm is still sore from the vaccination yesterday. Later Willow slowed down, and we both enjoyed a casual walk the second time around the dam.

Willow’s first visit to Sonstraaldam: 17 July 2021

I promised Willow yesterday that we would go for a walk this morning. I am not sure if Willow can understand me, but I think she remembered my promise to her.

At first I just wanted to walk around the neighborhood but then I decided against it. I got her leash and car keys. Normally she runs around and make a game of putting on her training collar and leash, not this morning she came and sat in front of me and her tail was sweeping the floor of excitement.

I drove to Sonstraaldam a place where I love to take photos. This morning it was just me, Willow and my cellphone. Willow first needs to get familiar with the places I like to take photos. This will mean that we will visit there a few times before I take my camera with. I am going to be honest it is hell not to have my camera there, and I see all these amazing shots I miss. But I think it is also important that Willow learn and get exposed to all the new scents and sounds.

The dam will be there tomorrow and I will get amazing shots then.

Willow sniffed and ran and pulled and sniffed the whole time. We went around the dam twice. The first time was so that she can sniff and smell everything. The second time was much more relaxed although she still sniffed a lot she did not pull as much.

I was very surprised that she did not run after the geese. She did want to chase the Guineafowl. But I pulled her back and told her not to. I will never get in a bird shot again if I teach her to chase the birds.

We also socialized with a French poodle and a big White Swiss Shephard. Willow enjoyed this and I wish we are at a stage where I can take of her leash too so that she can go play. We will get there I know and I know it will take some time.
