A few changes….

Hi there friends,

I have changed my routine a bit. In the morning, I wake up, make coffee and relax for a few minutes. During the day, I edit, write or schedule posts and do my chores in and around the house. If I feel like sweeping – I sweep, I feel like editing – I edit. If I want to play in the garden with Willow, I do it. You get the picture?

Willow is also taking up much more time these days, and I try to take her on walks when the weather is good. She gets bored easily. Things will get easier when it is a bit warmer and we can go for more frequent walk.

I only watch about an hour of TV now. I get so frustrated with all the programs I have been watching still hammering on the Black lives Matter campaign. In my eyes, all lives matter! To dedicate one or two episodes to it is still fine but more than that is overkill. Also Covid 19, yes people I know about it, I am living with it since March 2020, I do not need to be reminded about it every time I want to watch a program. Why not bring us some joy?

I do my Gaelic lessons in the evening after dinner. Before bed, I read my book, and I try to keep technology to a minimum.

Life is too short. Over the past few weeks, I have realized it over and over again. I told myself I need a change but never got to do it.

Not only did things change in my daily life, but I also made some changes to my blog.

I moved two of my daily posts to only one post a week. What’s in my garden will be posted on Thursdays, and For the love of Music will be posted on Fridays. Willow Shenanigans has also moved to Fridays.

Fauna and Flora Friday, Saturday Landscapes, Caturday, Sunday portraits, and Silent Sunday falls away for now. I will incorporate all these photos into the Just a random photo and Wordless Wednesday posts. When I have extra time I will post something in-between.

As you all know I am also busy with my Advanced module in Landscape and Travel photography. I still need to practice a lot and learn how to plan my photos. This is why I made some changes to my blog. Making my workload a bit less and giving me more free time to plan and practice and capture photos for my assignment. I have to submit my assignment by 20 December 2021, and I have to submit 19 photos.

With all my heart, thank you for your ongoing support and taking the time to read my post. I am truly grateful for every view, like, follow, and comment I receive.

May you have a day filled with laughter and love.

  1. I have the tv turned off most of the day. I check the morning weather and updates. It’s just too much. Best wishes with the photography, it’s much harder to learn than I thought. Your photos are great to look at and it sounds like you have a plan

    1. Thank you, Alice. I love to do planning and when I go on a road trip I have a binder or flip file with all the information I need and some useless information about the towns along the way as well. I make a list of places of interest and leave lots of space for additional places we come across on our trip. Planning for a photograph is nearly the same except that I must calculate the time of day the direction of the light and so on. This is something I still need to learn how to do.

I imagine the media in South Africa is as useless as the propaganda machine here in the US. Possibly more so. It sounds glib, but if they bring you anything other than fear, they won’t be able to control you as effectively.

To me, they are so utterly devoid of credibility, I inherently disbelieve EVERYTHING they say. Everything.

It’s not easy, but by stay positive and healthy: going for walks or doing yoga or your language studies — anything that brings you happiness — will weaken the grasp the powers that be and their mouthpieces have on you.

    Cheers, Coreen.

I agree with you. I stopped watching the news or even listen to the news a few years ago. Every morning when I get to my desktop I get highlights of the latest news. I think that is enough for me.

I’ll rather take photos, go for walks, long drives, read my inspirational books, listen to music, and spend time with my loved ones and my pets.

      Have a great day

      1. That’s about my extent too. I wish my grandma would turn off the news — she’d feel much better about a lot of things. 😀

  3. These changes sound positive. Blogging needs to be fun, so don’t feel stressed about it. Creating deadlines might turn it into a chore. Your photographs are always a joy to look at and so I hope you will have plenty of interesting material for your portfolio.

  4. Great stuff Coreen. The Canola – oil seed rape here – is just about to be harvested and has gone from a brilliant yellow to a dull, lifeless, brown. The barley. swaying in the breeze, is waiting for the combine. Shame!!
