Good morning friends

Hope you had a peaceful nights rest.

Today is my 47’th birthday. I know the song goes “It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to…” But I changed the lyrics for today to “It’s my birthday, and I’ll do what I want to….” So after the cats fought at 3:00am and Lian my youngest son, who was streaming games the whole night, decided he was hungry and made himself a snack. I went to the kitchen to see what was going on. When Lian saw me he said Happy Birthday and he asked if I wanted a strawberry Milkshake. So in the middle of the night Lian and I drank strawberry milkshake and talked. It was the best way to start my birthday. “It’s my birthday, and I’ll do what I want to…” I went to bed and tried to fall asleep. Think I was on a sugar high from the milkshake. I did manage to fall asleep and woke up when Morné went to work at 6:00am.

Lian was still streaming at 6:30am when we started on a Peppermint Crisp Tart for my birthday. It has been a tradition in our household that on a persons birthday I will make them a Peppermint Crisp Tart as part of their Birthday present. I always loosed out but this year I decided I am making one for myself with the help of Lian. So before I had breakfast or even my first cup of coffee, I licked out the mixing bowl myself. “It’s my birthday, and I’ll do what I want to…”

On a more serious note I would just like to say thank you to my Heavenly Father for all the opportunities of the past 47 years. I am looking forward to all the new opportunities I am going to have in the coming year.

This morning it was nice and cool in the garden. Just a light breeze. According to the weather forecast on the Radio today it is going to be a whopping 38 Degrees Celsius. So for the remainder of the day I will be staying inside again. Will go out tonight when it’s cooler and spend some time in the garden reading.
