Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021….

Good day everyone,

I have been reading post here on WordPress, and also on my other social media. 95% of the posts are negative and everyone wishes the year to end. In the same breath a lot of the people don’t have much hope for 2021.

My take on 2020 and Covid 19 Lockdown.

Yes there was negative impact on families also, businesses closed, families lost income and some lost loved ones. But let’s look at the bigger picture. There was some positive also. But us humans always look past all the opportunities and positives in live.

Here are just a few of the positives:

It gave us time to reconnect with our families. Parents got to spend time with their children. Children got to spend time with their parents.

It gave us time to get into shape. We could exercise at home.

It gave us the time to try out some new recipes and eat home cooked meals.

It gave us time to get rid of bad habits. Like smoking and excessive drinking. (here in South Africa the sale of Alcohol and Cigarettes was banned.)

For those who never had the time to clean out their cupboards and garages it gave them the opportunity to do just that.

It gave nature a chance to reset.

Covid 19 Lockdown did not really affect my daily routine (because I never had one). I work from home and are use to spending my days here.

The positives out way the negatives for 2020 and Covid 19 Lockdown.

Negatives:

I could not do any shoots and like many others I did not have an income.

I could not visit my dad when he was in hospital.

I could not travel.

Positives:

I started my Diploma in Photography.

I got into a daily routine.

I started making time to read again.

I went through my archives and found edit work from 2015. I still have enough to keep me busy for 2021.

I started making my inspirational cards again. I love sharing them with everybody

I started spending more time in my garden.

I grabbed the opportunity to take plenty photos of my pets, my garden, birdlife and document the growth of my plants from seedlings to flowering plants.

I started blogging again and I am loving every second of it.

My blog views went up by +40k. I am so blessed, grateful and super excited.

2021 I am ready for you!

My new years resolution is to continue to build on all the positives of 2020.

In 2021 I want to write and post more blogs. I am just thinking of a few more themes. I have thousands of photos I haven’t yet edited and shared with you.

In 2021 I would love to visit more nature reserves and gardens in and around the Western Cape and of course take millions of photos documenting the outings.

My Inspirational books for 2021
This is where the magic happen.

A big thank you hug to each and everyone who liked, viewed and followed my blog during 2020. Without your support I would not have gone this far.

A special thanks go out to my Father who always encourage me to write more blogs. He always asks me if I am going to put the photos on the internet.

To my two boys Armand and Lian for always supporting me. You are my pillars of strength.

To Desiree (my fiancé’s daughter), thank you for all the cups of coffee, tea and lunches you made for me while I was editing.

To my fiancé, Morné. Thank you for your support and your patients when I just want to write a quick blog. We all know it takes hours….

Then last but not least. To my Heavenly Father. Thank you for always having my back. Thank you for giving me the talent to capture all the beautiful landscapes, flowers, birds, insects, animals and people.

My wish for each and everyone is to have a Blessed 2021, and that you will live your life to the fullest.

Big hug

Coreen

  1. Well done Coreen, my sentiments exactly! I wish I could broadcast your message to all the depressed souls out there; as you rightly mention, there are by far more negative comments about 2020 than there are positive.
I am convinced my wife and I live in a positive space, because we created it to be so. Jesus said, “I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father.” John 14:12 We are the children of our Father, the Great Creator – and we are the creators of our lives, just like Him.
