      Thank you. Thank you for this interesting question I never thought of it till you brought it to my attention. I got the following from our friend Google. “While both come from the same plant, they have different uses and tastes. Cilantro is the leaves and stems of the coriander plant. When the plant flowers and turns seed the seeds are called coriander seeds. Cilantro is also the Spanish word for coriander.” Have a wonderful day.

      1. I love the taste of fresh cilantro, never used coriander seeds though. We enjoy Mexican food, which uses a lot of cilantro. My late husband used to grow all sorts of herbs, including parsley, dill weed, sage, etc. He grew all vegetables, and thousands of heads of cabbage. His farm looked as pretty as it was fruitful. Apples, too.
