Exploring South Africa: Richmond

How do I start this post. Editing these photo’s was very emotional and it took me 4 years to get the guts to do it.

These photo’s were all taken one week after my mother passed away while on holiday….

My parents went to visit my mothers friend and sister while I went to support my sons in their different sports. Armand had his National Air Rifle Competition in Hartebeespoort and Lian my youngest had his first Badminton Tournament in Rustenburg.

Well on our way to Gauteng my mom said that she would like to go to Richmond because every time we just stop at the garage for coffee and a bathroom break and then we are on our way again.  I told her that we can go there on our way back home….

But due to a aneurysm she passed away on  10 October 2015.  My dad and I stayed in Gauteng to arrange for her cremation and to finalize everything before we head home. I am not going to lie losing my mom broke me but I had to be strong for my dad.

As we approached Richmond I told my dad that in honor of my mom I would like to go there as promised. She would have loved it.  I took some photo’s and we were on our way again.

Thank you for visiting Richmond with us.
