Every year the Durbanville Children’s Home host a ladies Breakfast for all the ladies out there to raise funds for the Children’s Home. This year it was held at the Beautiful Wedding Venue Marlenique.
It was a huge success 350 ladies attended Denim & Diamonds event.
The Decor was done by To-Nett’s from the Paarl and I must say she did an absolute fantastic job. I can really recommend her for your decor needs.

One of Durbanville Children’s Homes own students did a drama piece on alcohol misuse. She was brilliant.
Karen Zoid is a female South African rock singer, guitarist, and song-writer. She performed at the Breakfast and she help to raise funds for one of the social workers so that she can go and spoil herself. Zoid also made the social worker promise that she will not give the money to the kids and that she will spend the money on herself.
Amore Bekker a well known Radio DJ talked about her journey. First she fell in love then she got depressed for no reason at all and then she lost her boyfriend. She talked about the different stages of emotions she went through when she grieved the loss her boyfriend. Her story made most of the ladies cry. Her depression was also not for no reason she was being prepared for the big loss in her life. Her boyfriend also had a feeling and the morning of his accident he told her goodbye my princess…. She always wanted to feel special and loved and this was just what she needed…. She really made an impact with her story and I think it must have been very hard for her to talk about and I admire her for doing just this. So many people lose a loved one and never get closure. But if you look at the things they did before they “left” you they also had a feeling and did things not even knowing that it will make a difference in the future.
Hugo Nieuwoudt one of our local artist entertained us to the end of the function. As always he knows how to get the feet tapping and the bodies dancing. One just can’t help but dance when he sings.
