Yesterday one of the bloggers I follow Marianne placed a recipe for Easy no bake Chocolate Peanut butter and oatmeal cookies. I decided I was going to try it out . Thank you Marianne it’s divine….
Today however I am not publishing a black and white photo. Instead I am publishing two collages. One of all the steps for making the cookies and one of my helpers. Armand, Lian and Eben all gave a hand in the making of the cookies.

Okay here in South Africa we don’t get the same ingredients as other countries. I think it changes from country to country. So I used what we have here.
Step 1: Get your ingredients ready.
½ cup (1 stick) butter (I used Stork baking margarine)
1½ cups granulated sugar
½ cup milk
4 tablespoons cocoa powder (I love dark chocolate so I used Nomu 70% cocoa powder)
½ cup peanut butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking oats
Step 2: Get saucepan and throw in ½ cup (1 stick) butter/margarine.
Step 3: Add 1½ cups granulated sugar.
Step 4: Add ½ cup milk.
Step 5: Add 4 tablespoons cocoa powder.
Step 6: Bring to boil while stirring the whole time.
Step 7: Simmer for 1 Minute only. Take of the heat.
Step 8: Add ½ cup peanut butter and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Stir till smooth.
Step 9: Add 3 cups quick-cooking oats.
Step 10: Stir till all the oats is covered in chocolate mixture.
Step 11: Put tablespoons of batter on a baking tray lined with wax paper.
Step 12: Let it cool down for approx 45 minutes. I took mine and put it in the refrigerator.
Step 13: Dish up a few with a glass of milk sit down and enjoy.

I took some of the cookies to my Mom and Dad to test. Then the fun started. First my Dad said he don’t like this cookie. I was very confused because it’s divine. I looked at him he smiled and said one is not enough you want more and more. 😉 That’s my dad for you.
While we were drinking tea and discussing these easy cookies. Dad then asked out of the blue I wonder how it would taste with peanuts in and then later what about coffee essence? So in the near future I will make some again and start experimenting with different ingredients. I always follow directions the first time I try a recipe. Then the fun and experimenting start….
OOHHH wow! They look fantastic and I´m glad you had some helpers!
Your Dad is right – of course you could add peanuts, raisins, dates or coffee essence to make them your own 🙂
Thank you for photographing the process. It was fun watching you make the cookies.
They are delicious. I am going to play with it now think dad will be the taster. haha he will enjoy it… 😉
Let me know how you get on, won´t you, Coreen?
